Ryanair will start charging passengers for bringing small ‘wheelie’ suitcases onto its planes from November.
Like many airlines, Ryanair allows customers to bring hand baggage weighing 10kg or less on board for free, but the airline said that overhead locker space had failed to match demand.
From November, passengers will either have to purchase Ryanair ‘speedy boarding’ or pay £8 to check a small bag in.
Meanwhile, the airline reached a deal with pilots to end a strike over holiday entitlement and working conditions after a marathon 22-hour negotiating session.
